Cirrhosis patients must be careful with Antibiotics
Patients with cirrhosis should avoid using antibiotic drug. Our liver is like a processing plant. The food that we eat will go through the intestines into our body, food will then be process and become nutrients for our blood, these nutrients are carried by the blood to every corner of the body.
The liver processes most medicines that enter the bloodstream and governs drug activity throughout the body. Once a drug enters the bloodstream, the liver converts the drug into chemicals the body can use and removes toxic chemicals that other organs cannot tolerate. During this process, these chemicals can attack and injure the liver. Creating a heavy burden.In the long term, once taking these drugs, resulting in considerable damage to the liver, which could possibility leads to liver cirrhosis.
If cirrhosis must take antibiotic they can:
- Take antibiotic which contain Penicillin
- Take antibiotic which contain Cephamycin
- If you have ever had a liver disease or gallstones, you should discuss this with your doctor before taking any medicines that may affect the liver or the gallbladder.
- Take these medicines only in the prescribed or recommended doses.
